For four years I studied, worked and cooked in Italy. I have a Masters degree from the University of Gastronomic Sciences near Parma.
I apprenticed with the chef of a small restaurant at a farmers cooperative in northwest Italy in the province of Piedmont and then moved on to work at Slow Food.
My passion for food includes responsibility. My food choices affect not only my health but also the health of the soil and the environment.
I believe everyone has the right to eat food that tastes good; is grown using sustainable methods that don't hurt the environment, animals or our health; is harvested when it is ripe and filled with nutrients; and that those who grow and harvest our food should be paid a fair wage for their work and consumers should be charged a fair price.
